Hi, my name is Phil Lawson, MADIA committee member & local LDC instructor / ORDIT Trainer.
I’ve been an instructor since Dec 03 & an ORDIT Trainer since Dec 07 and thoroughly love the job.
I was a Financial Consultant for nearly 20 years but then got made redundant, hence, becoming an instructor, and for the first time, in control of my own future.
I’m a family man with a wonderful wife, Julia, and have two boys, Josh & Sam, & not forgetting our special dog Millie, (right Heinz 57, but beautiful), who’s spoilt rotten.
I’m an Observer for the IAM, which is where I met my good friend Lesley Spence who spent many an hour training patiently with me to become an instructor as well. I say patiently, because the perfectionist in me always wanted things near perfect.
I think that the idea of MADIA is fantastic, after all, ‘Instructors in Unison’ says it all, it’s what’s needed, we’re all trying to achieve the same thing in the end, SAFER ROADS.
I look forward to MADIA’s future and intend to make sure that it succeeds as new Chairman, working with the other committee members who are as committed as myself to ensure its success.
I hope that more instructors in the Mansfield and Ashfield area will have the same vision and come along to some of the meetings.
